Regional Ring Road: status tracker
Where the RRR’s northern and southern parts stand, what has slipped, and what buyers should watch.
What the RRR is
A planned ring expressway of about 340 km, roughly 30–50 km beyond the Outer Ring Road. It is split into a northern part (about 158–164 km) and a southern part (about 182 km).
Status
| Project | Status | Relevance | What to watch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Northern part | Planned | Approved; NHAI construction tender extended six times as of August 2026 | Tender award and start of works |
| Southern part | Proposed | DPR consultant appointed; alignment finalisation in progress (March 2026) | Notified alignment; land acquisition |
Southern alignment
Officials have described the southern stretch as running Sangareddy–Amangal–Shadnagar–Choutuppal, and other sources list Choutuppal, Ibrahimpatnam, Kandukur, Amangal, Chevella and Shankarpally. The alignment has changed before, prompting objections from landowners.
Jurisdiction effect
In March 2025 HMDA’s jurisdiction was extended up to the RRR plus a buffer of up to two kilometres (G.O. 68). This changes which authority approves layouts in many outer villages.
What buyers should watch
- Notification of the southern alignment and the 100-metre road reservation.
- Award of the northern tender and actual start of works.
- Whether a specific survey number falls inside the reservation.
