How to judge infrastructure announcements
A practical way to tell an announcement from a project that will actually be built.
Announcements move plot prices long before anything is built. Use these signals to judge how real a project is.
| Stage | What it means |
|---|---|
| Announcement | An intention. Often changes. |
| Detailed project report | Studied and costed; alignment may still move. |
| Sanction and funding | Approved by the funding authority. |
| Alignment notified, land acquisition | Location largely fixed. |
| Tender awarded, works started | Being built. |
Examples: the Regional Ring Road’s northern tender was extended for the sixth time in August 2026; NIMZ at Zaheerabad took over a decade to reach infrastructure works. See our RRR tracker.
