Foxconn Interconnect Technology’s factory at Kongara Kalan is operational and employing thousands of people, BRS working president and former IT minister K. T. Rama Rao said on X, as reported on 20 May 2026. The memorandum of understanding was signed in 2023, and ground was broken that year on land allotted by the state industrial corporation.

Fact status

Statement by a political leader

The plant is operational and employs “thousands”. We have not seen company or government employment figures.

Earlier official record

About 196 acres were allotted and a $500 million first phase was announced in 2023, with a projection of 25,000 direct jobs.

Why it matters for buyers

An operating factory is a stronger driver than an announcement. Job projections are not counts; wait for verified figures. See Kongara Kalan.
