Mortgaged plots: why some plots in an approved layout can’t be sold yet
Authorities hold some plots as security until development works are done. Make sure yours isn’t one of them.
When a layout is approved, the authority typically takes a portion of the plots as security (a mortgage) to ensure the developer completes roads, drains and other works. Those plots are released only after the works are certified.
